HOW OUR DEPARTMENT WORKS

Our program consists of faculty members from a number of Southeast Michigan academic hospitals and cancer centers.  While the bulk of the didactic coursework is taught by WSU faculty directly, some courses and thesis advisement are handled by faculty members with access to alternate clinical resources, broadening the knowledge-base of the program and strengthening the curriculum.

There are three main groups of faculty members students interact with:

1. Faculty members at the downtown clinic working for WSU
2. Faculty members at the downtown clinic working for Karmanos
3. Faculty members working at external institutions like Henry Ford and Beaumont Hospitals.

In addition to these primary faculty members, guest lectures are given from both distinguished alumni and top researchers in the field, giving the students an opportunity to interact with important members of the medical physics community all across the United States.
